On behalf of the City of East Camden, welcome.
There’s something about this community that’s hard to put into words, but I’ll try.
East Camden was literally built on a foundation of service. The United States Navy built this town to support a mission that mattered to the entire country. That spirit never left. Today, our Highland Industrial Park is home to some of the most important defense manufacturing operations in the nation, with companies like Lockheed Martin, L3Harris, and General Dynamics doing work that protects freedom right here in our backyard. We are deeply proud of that.
And then there’s SAU Tech, right in the heart of our community, turning out the skilled workers who keep that mission going. When you see a student walking across campus, you’re looking at the next generation of people who will carry East Camden forward.
But what I want you to know most is this: East Camden is a great place to live. Our neighbors show up for each other. Our volunteers give their time to keep this city safe and running. Our families fill the streets for the Christmas Parade every December, and they turn out in force every first Saturday in May for our City-Wide Garage Sale. These are the things that make a place a home.
We have a rich past and a bright future, and we’re just getting started. Whether you’re a longtime resident, a new neighbor, or someone thinking about calling East Camden home, I want you to know that the door is open and the welcome mat is out.
